Giving Flowers

Let’s imagine the unfortunate passing of a friend or loved one. At nearly every funeral, you see flowers and other gifts for the family or the loved one. What is the purpose of the flowers? The gifts?

Have you ever thought about reaching out or going to visit someone, but then they unexpectedly pass and you didn’t follow your heart? Guilt. A lot of flowers sent to or brought to funerals are a show of guilt, being a giver at a difficult time. Wouldn’t you rather give your flowers away while the person is alive? I know I would.

I’m going to urge you to give your flowers to people while they’re alive and while they can still smell them. Literally, you can give flowers to someone. Metaphorically, you can share how thankful and grateful you are with them.

I want you to reach out to someone who means a lot to you. Whether you go see them, call, text, write a letter, etc — it’ll be important and I promise you’ll look back on doing so someday.

Give your flowers away, y’all.
